The Baltimore shoot starts Thursday-Sun and I had already taken off work Thursday and Friday to attend and camp. I had intended on fishing the lower gunpowder river near Gunpowder falls state park after setting up camp at the shoot Thursday. I would come home and pick up my son to camp on Friday evening for the rest of the shoot.
Now the weather had other plans. We have had 4 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. Every stream and creek is flooded, and fishing looks out altogether.
Meanwhile, I have been tying up some trout flies at home in my spare time. Nate Steen had gifted me book from the 70's about soft hackle flies and I decided to add a few of those to my arsenal. These were tied with pheasant and chukar feathers I saved from a few birds I shot earlier in the year.
I also tied up a few size 12 zonker bead headed streamers for trout. First ones came out kind of ugly, but I will get better and these will still catch fish.
Looking forward to the bow shoot. Going to do some good shooting with Sagittarius I think. Pictures and posts to follow.
