Lunchtime Bass and Bluegill on the yellow Lefty's Deceiver

Today I hit the pong again using a Lefty deceiver in all yellow deer hair and flash and had what looked like a yellow perch hit it immediately, and soon after I caught this other 13 inch bass.

Had a bold bluegill nail it after that.

Then, I lost the fly to a bush growing out of an outflow in the middle of the pond and nothing else hit my replacement fly (it was a larger deceiver with some feather in the tail.

Another fellow was across the pond throwing a spinnerbait, and when I went to the car to get another fly he met me there.  He had caught a decent 2-pound bass on a worm and hooked it deep.  The bass was floating dead after he "released" it.  I told him he should eat it and not let it go to waste.  He said he doesn't eat bass.  So, I took home some fillets and threw the carcass back for the snappers.  I have not eaten bass in some time, but will now.  It is good but doesn't compare to trout!
